School trips & tours in the North Island
Time to see Mother Nature at her very finest! Among rugged coasts and dormant volcanoes your students will be discovering glistening Emerald lakes, mountain springs and taking on steam vents. If it sounds like a fairy tale, that’s because it pretty much is!
Day 1 - 2
Your students will arrive into Auckland, and enjoy a walking tour of the city. Climb the inactive volcano Mount Eden. On day 2 your students will be hopping on a ferry to the volcanic island of Rangitoto. In the afternoon students will explore Auckland War Museum and the Sky Tower.
Day 3 - 6
In the morning, your students will be setting off for Rotorua where you will explore the geothermal wonderlands. In the evening, you will have a traditional Māori hāngi dinner and learn about the history of the local Māori people. On their fourth day students will be heading to Waimangu Volcanic Valley and Lake Rotomahana to take in the natural geothermal ecosystem before moving on to Taupō. From here students will be pushing onto Tongariro National Park, hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
Day 7 - 9
Travel from Tongariro to Wellington. Following exploring the capital students will be heading to Te Papa, New Zealand’s National Museum in the morning. The cable car will give student the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the snow-capped peaks of the South Islands of the Inland Kaikoura Ranges. Students will transfer from Wellington home.
